To properly sign a curve, you need to know the safe speed of that curve. We gather this information by successive passes on the curve until the safe speed is determined. MasterMind trained specialists perform this analysis per the procedure outlined in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The study has been computerized using input from a clinometer into our own RoadMasterTM Inventory Road software. This ensures all information is concise and uniform throughout the study.
All selected routes are driven to locate the beginning and end of every curve in relation to control point data. All curve related signs are also logged and assigned to their respective curve. The safe speed is then determined for each curve.
After all data is collected and returned to the our office, all curve and sign information is reviewed to ensure existing warning signs are correct and at the proper distance from the curve. Corrective measures are laid out in an easy to read report that is designed for your sign crew to use in the field. Study results are presented in our own copyrighted graphical, 1 mile per page, report. Curves, signs and control points are easily viewed.
